How PRI Can Help
Fibromyalgia can be difficult to diagnose as it can present as multiple pain conditions. It requires a team approach to effectively treat and ensure the condition improves with active participation from the client.
PRI’s treatment team has solid experience in diagnosing and effectively alleviating pain and symptoms associated with fibromyalgia. After a detailed review of your clinical history, including other pain conditions, and a thorough physical examination, PRI will develop a customized treatment plan that may encompass one or more of the following therapies.
Aquatic Therapy: low impact, physical rehabilitation exercises in water; reduces pain and inflammation; improves strength and flexibility.
Acoustic Wave Therapy: pain and drug free alternative to surgery; high intensity waves break down damaged tissue and stimulate production of healthy tissue; highly effective in relieving pain, reversing inflammation and improving mobility.
Acupuncture/Intramuscular Therapy (IMS): treatments can reduce chronic pain in multiple areas of the body and the effects can last for months.
Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS): emerging as a highly effective therapy to alleviate pain symptoms of fibromyalgia; mild electric current stimulates specific nerve cells in the brain to reduce the severity and duration of pain conditions.
Physical Therapy: a combination of stretching exercises and cold/heat therapy to relieve pain and increase movement and flexibility over time.
Chiropractic: gentle adjustments to realign the vertebra (spine), take the irritation off the nerve and relieve the pain naturally.
Massage: helps to relieve discomfort associated with muscular and chronic pain.
Disc Decompression: painless and safe therapy that relieves pain and accelerates return to normal activity.
