banner-aquatherapyWhat is Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic Therapy is quite simply physical or rehabilitation therapy in water. As exercises are performed in a weightless environment, there is no stress on the joints, and the resistance of the water safely improves strength and muscle development.

PRI’s heated Aqua Therapy pool features an in-water treadmill, an underwater bike, a current generator for wave resistance training and horizontal swim, as well as variety of handheld and upper body exercise equipment.

You do not need to know how to swim, a licensed therapist will be with you at all times during your customized treatment session.

A licensed PRI therapist uses Aquatic Therapy for:

  • Treating chronic pain in back, hips and legs
  • Physical rehabilitation after surgery such as hip or knee replacement
  • Recovery from severe physical trauma such as breaks or fractures
  • Neuromuscular or musculoskeletal disorders
  • Sports injuries
  • Foot pain and other orthopaedic disorders
  • Arthritis
