We offer multiple chronic pain treatment options.
Causes & Symptoms
Chronic pain can be caused by a wide variety of injuries or conditions that affect joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. It is important to identify the source of the pain, particularly for leg pain as the leg contains different structures and tissue types.
- Sciatica: inflammation of the sciatic nerve causes aches or pain in the legs, feet and toes; pins-and-needles sensation, numbness or stabbing spasms; simple actions such as walking, bending or sitting can be uncomfortable to extremely painful.
- Disc Degeneration: gradual, age-related wear and tear of discs in the lumbar region of the lower back can also create pain and stiffness in the legs.
- Pelvic misalignment: puts pressure on the sciatic nerve and creates pain, numbness or tingling down the leg.
- Arthritis: arthritis of the spine puts pressure on nerve roots and can cause burning or cramping leg pain, numbness and tingling.
